About Melissa
Melissa Piccone has over 20 years experience using Adobe products and teaching. Her skills span from computer game design, interface design, web design to print design. She is an expert Photoshop user and instructor. She not only excels at teaching the standard Adobe curriculum, but writes her own for custom classes.
She attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. At San Jose State, she received a BS in Computers in Art and Design, Research and Education. At Alias (now Silicon Graphics) Melissa worked with 3-D software popular in Hollywood films and created computer games for Eidos. Check out her nationally referenced article comparing jpegs and gifs. She was an adjunct professor for the University of Denver and a Web Design instructor for Arapaho Community College.
She's also been known to teach ballroom dancing.
Melissa strives to 'see the big picture' and, therefore, designs, executes and teaches with purpose, using both sides of the brain.
Melissa founded Cyber Element, Inc. in 1998 and had a thriving web design company. In 2004 she switched gears and founded PhotoBookMemories, a digital scrapbooking company making custom photobooks for people and providing printing and books for the digital scrapbooking community. She sold Photobook memories in 2009 when she moved to Leesburg, VA and re-connected with her true love, teaching. In 2012, Melissa moved back to Colorado.
She is now an Adobe Certified Instructor working as an independent contractor for herself and several companies around the country. She travels all over to teach to places like Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, South Carolina and Texas. Living in Colorado and the Denver Metro Area is a central location allowing for travel all over the US.
